Assembly Rooms
1 Market Place
In 1845 this building, the third part of London House, was occupied by James Sutton, probably the gunmaker who died in 1850. In the 1890s it was Gibson’s clothing shop.
By the 1970s Cooke & Son footwear was established here and in the later 70s and 80s it was Jones’ furniture shop. The 1990s saw the opening of Together Boutique selling reproduction furniture and then Motorworld for some years.
Later businesses were the Delicatessen Tunadica and Aimee & Jayne gift shop in 2023.
Currently it is the Vintage and Wartime Shop and Museum. The Museum was officially opened on 13 March 2024 by Colonel Ryan Garlow Commander 100th Air Refuelling Wing from RAF Mildenhall.
