Impson, Butchers

East Side

The building is said to date to 1653 and was demolished in 1946.

Other people who probably lived in this house, next door or at the rear include:
Robert Matthews-harness maker;
Robert Hudson-poulterer.
Matthew Pratt and his son, also Matthew, watchmakers in the 1870s.

In 1911 the house was occupied by William Dillistone – a taxidermist

A Mr Futter did not live in the building in 1939 but was a shoe repairer there.

Godfrey & Impson butchers opened in about 1926 and Impson Butchers is still trading today in the same location.
